I contribute to the HBF Promise by ensuring that providers are registered promptly, accurately and in accordance with HBF Rules and regulations and also enabling members maximum access to appropriate quality health care services where and when they are needed.I support the maintenance of strong, open and equitable provider relationships to ensure that HBF members can access health providers and services and for HBF to achieve its business objectives.I provide support to the Provider Relations Manager and leadership and direction to the Provider Support Officers in their duties. I am also responsible and accountable for the day to day supervision of the Provider Support Officers and the escalation of issues, both from a technical process and HR perspective, to the Provider Relations Manager as required. One of my key responsibility is to review and respond to medical and hospital non-standard benefit decisions relating to Plastic & Reconstructive items and High Cost drug requests, Non Listed Medical Devices, Post Discharge Services, Neonatal, ICU and CCU extensions and approves such requests within financial designation or alternatively provides rationale for approval or decline to the Manager Provider Relations. I represent the Department as required and liaise with internal departments and providers to deliver exceptional customer service and prompt resolutions in line with HBF Policies /Regulations.

Initiating and managing projects on behalf of Provider Relations, ensuring that these projects achieve the agreed HBF objectives, that any changes have the member experience as a paramount consideration and that they are successfully completed on time and within budget.

I provide support to the Medical Relations Manager in all activities related to medical provider management. When required, I lead in the building and maintenance of strong, open and equitable relationships with all medical providers and day surgeries, as well as lead the liaison with Medicare representatives. Other tasks include assisting in the early identification of medical trends, day hospital, and industry activity, as well as being involved in provider management negotiations, researching and analysing trends, and seeking improvements in all activities.
