Started by volunteers in 1971, the clinic has grown into a premier federally qualified health center with six locations in New York City to provide high-quality, affordable, and culturally competent health care for underserved Asian Americans and other vulnerable populations. We help people, regardless of their ability to pay or the language they speak, get equal access to health care.

It played a leading role in Ping Pong Diplomacy by co-hosting the 1972 U.S. visit of the Chinese table tennis team, and has since hosted major events for every senior Chinese leader visiting the U.S. from Deng Xiaoping to Xi Jinping.
