As an Entrepreneurship & Corporate Innovation major student, I would like to found my own music talent agency either in Korea or Japan. This leads to my passion of learning about and exploring different cultures. My mantra is "Widening the horizon through endless exploration". Whenever I learn about different cultures, I get to see things in different perspectives, which ultimately allows me to learn and grow as a person. Because of my passion, I now know how to speak four languages fluently. I have went to Spain for six weeks and lived with a host family where I could not speak any English or use the internet, which was an immersive experience for me to learn the Spanish culture and language. With that experience, I went to Dominican Republic and helped a non-profit organization, Puente, to build a farm for pregnant women, where we worked approximately six hours a day outdoors. There, I was able to translate for both my team and the non-profit organization. I also co-founded Midwestern Korean Student Organization, MKSO, where we allow Korean students across the Midwestern region to build connections and communicate with each other. We founded the organization because we realized that even though there is an organization for Koreans on a national level, there was no medium for Koreans in the Midwestern region, and thought that an organization with smaller range of membership would allow for a more communicative and tight relationship to be built among the members. Learning about different cultures by active participation and taking leadership roles in promoting different cultures continues to motivate me and widening the world that I get to see.
