I and the rest of the circulation team handle the books from checkout to restocking them back on the shelvesI provide direct services to patrons from the circulation desk and the computer lab. At the circulation desk I help patrons with inquiries about their accounts. I process applications, fines and receipts, and general account questions.At the computer lab, I help patrons navigate the computer, computer software (Microsoft office), and the internet (research). I also help with job searching, resume writing, and have also provided paper feedback/editing. This has been a great opportunity to work on my organizational skills, time management, and providing direct customer service.

Grant writing: grant maker research and deduction, initial contacts, letter of inquiry, needs statement, solutions statements.Organization assessment- Check in on how proposals are are being implemented; site visits, assessment, and presentation. Advocacy- White paper, time line, field work(canvassing, presenting), press releases.Grant making- creating parameters for grant; researching organizations(IRS certification, 990 forms), making contacts with organizations for setting up interviews, conducting site visits and interviews.

Just about everything done at the main library branch but on a smaller scale and alone. -Make sure all equipment is running correctly.-Shelving checking out/in.-Helping patrons with research and general inquiry.-Monthly reporting of money and activities.-Program implementation-filing/organizing; following special schedules.

Along with four other team members, I am responsible for washing dishes, bathroom maintenance, general grounds maintenance, and various miscellaneous requests and projects and dining hall closing; predominantly at one of the five camps, for 100+ guests. Some projects include maintenance of other camp sites.This job requires some muscle and psychological and physical stamina to handle this work environment. Being away from home can take it's toll but a greater psychological battle comes with knowing all those dishes you've just scrubbed are going to come right back out three times a day. Moving up and down mountain sides to get the job done is good exercise.Skills include communication to teammates for tasks, management for supplies, and friendly help to inquiring guests; and diligence in cleaning dishes, bathrooms, and cabins' I also think keeping the energy up and helping the team morale is very important.
