Some career paths are linear; mine is a zigzag. I started out as a professional musician, graduating from Berklee College of Music and relocating to LA to pursue a career in music. Through that experience I learned about the challenges bands and record labels encounter while trying to promote themselves. In 2010, my bandmate and I came up with an idea to tackle this problem. With zero prior experience in startups, we decided to co-found Earbits, a music streaming platform with a unique business model. Our venture was backed by Y-Combinator and some of Silicon Valley's most respected investors. In 2015, we were acquired. Building a startup turned me into a versatile professional. I found myself taking on various roles, from driving product development to overseeing marketing, sales, customer success, operations, and all aspects of the business.In 2017, I started a new chapter in Australia, transitioning into a role as a startup mentor and investor. I had the privilege of working with hundreds of startup founders, guiding them through the challenges of an early stage startup.I joined 77 Partners as a venture partner. Additionally, my former co-founder and I launched a US index fund that invests in Y-Combinator companies. To date, we've raised five funds and invested in 255 YC companies.What's next?
