Hi, I am Chen You-Chia, a multidisciplinary designer from Taiwan, and currently pursuing master degree at Aalto University in Helsinki. My passion for design is in material research, especially experimental textile design. My main works are mostly textile and object design, which focused on studying the emotional connection through the qualities of materials and the material-human relationship.Before starting my master study, I have three-year-work experience in a textile mill, which specializes in transportation and home interior fabrics. I worked closely with engineers and factories and was particularly inspired by the manufacturing process. The solid knowledge in production inclines me to start my journey of researching experimental textiles. At the moment, I worked mostly by the hands-on method and free-form prototype, which the raw materials are not limited by yarns or fabrics.
