As a Sessional Instructor for MSC2006H: Advanced Media Design Technologies I have the pleasure of revamping and delivering educational content focused on high-performance visualization and human-computer interactions as it applies to instructional technology and research. Course content includes introductory content related to coding and working with remote repositories; accessible design; UX and UI testing via qualitative and quantitative methods; and a group project that allows students to broadly explore how interactive technology can be leveraged to communicate complex ideas.

As a member of the MedTech team at Osso VR, I worked as a project lead to help design, create, and test surgical procedures and equipment demonstrations in virtual reality (VR) for the Meta Quest platform. Drawing on my skills as a trained medical illustrator, I became a content expert on the surgeries recreated in VR, researching the underlying pathologies, patient demographics, and requisite procedural steps necessary to facilitate best-in-class educational experiences for surgeons, residents, and other healthcare providers (HCPs). Highlights of my work at Osso VR include:• Acting as a primary point of contact for clients regarding the clinical, education, and technical aspects of all projects, including during biweekly updates on progress toward key milestones and live work-in-progress feedback sessions hosted in VR• Hosting and planning regular training sessions for all MedTech employees to help maintain a consistent skill level across the department and bring fellow medical illustrators up-to-speed with recent developments and work-flow changes• Coordinating with a cross-functional team of medical illustrators; unity developers; engineers; quality assurance testers; and artists (organic, hard surface, technical, and rigging) to problem-solve and generate novel solutions when creating innovative and engaging VR procedures — for example, the X-Bolt Pro-X1 surgical training module, as featured in ORTHOWORLD

At Bridgeable I translated complex scientific topics into impactful designs that educated, engaged, and delighted patients, caregivers, and health care providers (HCPs). Drawing on an interdisciplinary background that combines scientific research, medical illustration, and graphic design, I worked to distil complex topics into compelling narratives that resonate with their intended audience — all with a more human touch.Highlights of my work at Bridgeable include:• Designing and executing multiple generative workshops with researchers, HCPs, patients, and caregivers to gain insight into specific user needs while building out actionable prototypes of real solutions • Creating peer-to-peer facilitation guidance for a physician speaker program, including how to effectively run discussions and activities, and best practices related to in-person and remote facilitation• Helping redesign educational resources related to drug efficacy, which were validated and refined through in-depth interviews to create a more engaging experience that better communicates the information HCPs need to know when educating their patients

As a freelance designer for New Motto, I work on projects for a variety of commercial business ventures, non-profit organizations, and local businesses. While New Motto provides a range of services including web, media, video, and social media support, my focus in the company is graphic design for print and web, and engaging course content design using Prezi.

As a Teaching Assistant (TA) for the undergraduate courses offered within the Biomedical Communications (BMC) minor, I lead tutorials of 40 students and worked to teach the basic functions of digital media technologies including Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. I placed an emphasis on how these applications could be used in science communication and education and provided interested students with a strong foundation and the basics necessary to expand their biocommunication toolset and pursue a minor in BMC at UofT.

As the Student Success Centre Multimedia Intern, Special Projects, I work to create dynamic, engaging, and educational content for students, employers, staff, and community members interacting with the SSC. This includes updating and editing the SSC's main website and associated microsites, designing visual solutions for the promotion of programs, events and services offered by the SSC, and using social media features such as Facebook Ads and Facebook Live to effectively communicate with the SSC's target audience.In addition to these roles, I handle photography and videography requirements at the SSC, and work to maintain and grow the centre's brand at McMaster.

As part of the Marketing and Events team, I am responsible for helping plan, create, and execute media engagement strategies for the McMaster Student Success Centre (SSC). I act as the key liaison for internal and external communications, the primary graphic designer and digital content creator, and work to identify and promote stories, news, and events that relate to the SSC in an effort to reach out to students and the broader McMaster community. In addition, I assist in the maintenance and revision of the SSC website, the Water Cooler gossip blog run by the SSC, and handle photography and videography as required.

The Multimedia Intern position was a brand new addition to the McMaster Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) when I started in 2015. In my role, I worked with instructors, Program Managers, and Program Associates in order to update existing online course materials and creating new content for both online and blended learning courses. I was tasked with redesigning the current course templates for the learning management system used by the CCE, Avenue to Learn (A2L), and additionally assisted the CCE Marketing Team on projects as needed.

As the Communications Officer for the McMaster Students Union (MSU), I was responsible for the planning and implementation of marketing and promotional strategies, including projects from the Board of Directors, members of the Student Representative Assembly (SRA), and the Part-Time Managers of the 35 services and businesses run by the MSU.This meant that I worked to create and manage both web and print based promotional content alongside the MSU graphic design team, creating posters, banners, and relevant images. In addition, I was in charge of photography and videography for MSU run events and services including social programming and advocacy initiatives.

I led curriculum and project based labs and tutorials rooted in biological concepts such as ecology, physiology, renewable energy, and cell biology.My main focus was to make higher-level science concepts accessible and interesting for first year students in order to facilitate an understanding of course content while encouraging critical thinking.

I worked with faculty members and administrative staff in order to redevelop and redesign existing online content while creating novel promotional material, documents, and videos aimed at program sponsors and potential students.In addition, I was tasked with representing the program in while leading educational workshops for elementary and high school students in order to encourage a desire to learn scientific content.

I worked alongside the existing student programmer and senior staff members to help further advance the online course content available for the newly created Masters in Health Science Education program. This entailed strengthening currently existing promotional material while creating original content for marketing purposes.

Alongside two other planners, I helped facilitate events for 1200 incoming science students that encouraged a sense of community and belonging at McMaster while helping foster the skills necessary to succeed academically and socially. In addition we coordinated a team of 150 upper year students to provide event programming and support for first year students and worked with university administration, the McMaster Students Union, community members, and faculty representatives in order to organize joint events and activities for all first year students.

I provided efficient and friendly service to customers while processing transactions and maintaining a high degree of financial accountability for my employer.
