I have been a Thermal Engineer for 20 years designing thermal systems for satellites at the instrument, bus, and observatory levels. I have contributed to missions in various Earth orbits including GOES-R and MMS, as well as Pluto (New Horizons), Mars (MAVEN), and an in-process small sat Lunar mission. I am experienced in management, complex thermal designs, propulsion systems, thermal integration and test, and on-orbit support. I enjoy and excel at interfacing with customers from vastly different backgrounds including NASA GSFC, NASA JPL, NASA APL, AFRL, Universities, large and small companies including Raytheon, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, Ball Aerospace, Red Wire Made In Space, PLANETiQ and more. My strengths as a thermal engineer stem from my diverse knowledge and experience gained by leading multiple instrument and bus thermal designs and teams from start to finish including:- Lead instrument thermal engineer on 7 NASA missions- Lead bus thermal engineer on multiple MicroSat missions - Manager of a team of 8 thermal engineers working on >20 separate flight missions concurrently- Proposal research and documentation- Thermal design of passive and active systems- Thermal design integration of propulsion systems- Analysis in Thermal Desktop and SpaceClaim- Exceptional presentations at critical milestone reviews- Thermal vacuum test set up and procedure writing- Thermal vacuum test lead on over 8 tests- Thermal model correlation- MLI blanket and SCT tape application to flight hardware- Final thermal coating close out and inspection at launch sites
