Leading a team of nine direct reports, this position played a key leadership role within the wider Finance & Performance group. The role was responsible for managing all aspects of ACC’s financial accounting and the provision of accurate financial information. Responsibility for directing, developing and managing the activities of the Financial Accounting team to ensure high quality, effective and timely financial accounting services across the organisation. This involves: • Maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and ensuring all interfacing systems reconciled (Guidewire and FINEOS products)• Maintaining financial control over all activities and appropriate financial policies are in place• Overseeing the month-end close process• Monthly management reporting• Statutory reporting and maintaining the audit relationship• Tax compliances, including for all ACC claimants (EI filings)• Balance sheet review and managementDuring this period ACC were undergoing a significant change in FMIS to Oracle Cloud (ERP and EPM). This role was instrumental in ensuring the financial accounting team was actively prepared and ready for cutover, with great success as standard reporting timelines were maintained. The team was heavily involved with UAT testing, data migration testing and adapting and developing new business process fit for the new system.

Additional responsibilities included finance business partnering to the Property team, month-end reporting and assisting with the implementation of the new asset management system (Assetic).

As the Management Accountant (reporting) I manage a team of two direct reports. The team is primarily responsible for the preparation and reporting of the Business Unit's monthly financial and management reports to the profit centre managers and the Group. I am also responsible for the preparation of the annual budget and reforecasts. In this role I have gained experience in:Overseeing of the month-end reporting process and ensuring tight deadlines are met.Balance Sheet account management.Inventory reporting.Monthly management reporting and variance analysis including one on one meetings with profit centre managers. Engaging with the business to recommend and implement improvements to reporting, business processes and financial procedures.

As an analyst I was responsible for providing business advisory and taxation services to a wide range of clients. This included the conduct of statutory audits, preparation of financial statements, management accounts, reconciliations of general ledger balances, administration of various entities, budgeting, forecasting and preparation of tax returns.

During my time at Grosvenor I worked in various areas including Client Services, KiwiSaver and the Custodial units.
