Judicial Law Clerks work closely with the District Court Judge performing professional legal research; drafting legal documents; correspondence; memoranda and other writings. Law clerks assist the Judge in managing all case types throughout the court system. Law Clerks' work is performed and reviewed through conferences and written reports under the supervision of a District Court Judge.A law clerk:• Reviews, studies, researches, and annotates laws, court decisions, documents, opinions, briefs, and related legal authorities.• Prepares briefs, legal memoranda, and statement of issues involved, including appropriate suggestions or recommendations to the justice or judge.• Compiles references on laws and decisions necessary for legal determinations.• Confers with justice, judge or court official concerning legal questions, construction of documents and granting of orders.• Attends court sessions to hear oral arguments and records necessary case information; maintain records attendant to court proceedings.• May perform courtroom duties including calling the calendar; swearing in jury panels and witness; taking court minutes; and assisting in various court proceedings such as arraignments, motions, hearings, pre-trial conferences and trials.

Full-time student at Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, CA. I'm currently pursuing an interest in Entertainment Law as well as possessing a strong passion for Litigation. I am a member of the Intellectual Property Fellowship Program, Sports and Entertainment Fellowship Program, Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, Entertainment Law Society - Industry Liaison, a Research Assistant for the Expert Lawyer in Human Rights Law, Susan Tiefenbrun, and a Student Ambassador for the Law School.

Assists Deputy City Attorneys in drafting statutes and regulations, reviewing contracts, representing the City in court and before administrative agencies and advising the Mayor, the Board of Supervisors, and various agencies and departments of the City. Spearheaded the Outside Counsel Recruitment Project with a colleague from the beginning where we collected the contact information for all Law Firms in California, reached out, and sent them Request for Qualification Packets to fill out to determine if they could be retained by the City of Chula Vista. Hosted a presentation in front of 25+ attorneys who are interested in having their firm be retained by the City of Chula Vista's City Attorney's Office.

While in this employment position, I was a full-time employee at Castle Crow as well as a full-time student at Sierra Nevada College.

Under the general direction of the Director of Research, I assisted by performing complex research and experimentation following established protocols (collecting and storing samples), assisted with research projects, performed independent research and established a new protocol for various clerical and editorial duties. I assisted in compiling, processing and analyzing data as well as performing supervisory and training duties while managing up to seven interns at one time.. I worked specifically on a large scale project to get a pharmaceutical passed by the FDA and CDC for use with patients who have chronic disorders. While in this position, I was employed full-time while being a full-time student at Sierra Nevada College.
