Conduct mechanical inspection of Port Assets for the Department of Infrastructure.Complete report on the condition, including asset management recommendations, for port assets as a member of a team of six engineers and managers. Completion involves consolidation of data gathered through liaison with the asset owners, review of service and maintenance records, in-situ inspection, referencing (Safe Work) codes and standards, and research and advise risk of equipment failure mode. Port Assets include tower, gantry, and mobile cranes, winches, lifting beams, bag lifters, lifting gear, hull cleaner, load cell, etc. The condition of each item is presented in a revised asset register.

Professional career began here with transferring the Mobile refinery drawing register to a new database, and strake designs for a furnace stack. Secondment began with the Olympic Dam 2003 Smelter shutdown preparations where I scheduled, costed, and planned lifting and transport for replacement of the 400 Tonne Electrostatic Precipitator, as well as helping out in the design office for various other shutdown works. I continued as a member of the Olympic Dam Alliance, completing several concept studies, and some ad hoc site work including integrity audit of a 15 metre tails leach tank. Became well versed in the alliance project controls systems, including primavera and portfolio training, and helped to develop the Alliance systems for the new Zinifex Alliance before transferring to Melbourne.

Northern Power Stations, Port Augusta.

Competency achieved through completion of practical training and job rotation through various workshops at the Port Augusta coal fired power stations over a period of four years. Some of the many career experiences include overhauls and maintenance of coal feeders, mills, valves, pumps, belt conveyors, and rotary dumpers, and 6 months in the drawing office. The Northern Power Stations were decommissioned in 2016, and a large solar plant now operates nearby.
