About Young Wang
https://www.behance.net/youngwangdesignI enjoy being creative. In high school, while I excelled at academics, I channeled my energies into being an artist. Naturally, my parents felt there was no future in purely creative pursuits and urged me to find something more practical. Upon graduating from college I moved into a computer field where I was able to write tools and UI interfaces for software. It was this act of creating something from nothing that opened my eyes to the world of where software and art meet. However, this didn't last long once the dotcom bubble burst and I had to rethink my path. I took this as a chance to follow the part of creating my own art business. I spent a few years developing my own art business utilizing the growing technology of the internet. I created my own designs and sold them via the internet and in-person at conventions.A few years later I was offered a position at Funimation where my passion for learning new things crossed with my drive to make the impossible, possible.The company grew and evolved as I did. I created new systems, coded tools, created packaging, generated 3D models, 3D printed prototypes, shot product photography, constructed costumes and all along the way grew into the person I am today.By pushing my boundaries I grew comfortable with rapid change and changing "We've never done that before" to "This is what I do."
