We began the club with 5 members at a public course playing once per week. After the first semester, I pitched 14 country clubs on student memberships, and we negotiated a membership to a private country club that tripled club participation. After the club's second year, we had 25 paying members and we had two country clubs offering club members reduced private membership rates. The same year, we went to the national championship and placed 13th at Firestone Country Club. Today, the club is a top 3 club on USC campus and has over 70 participants.
