In July of 2005, Kyle MacDonald decided to trade up from a single red paperclip, with the goal of ending with a house. When I heard about his story, I knew I needed to know this man, so I called the number on the website. At that time Kyle was on trade #4, he had a green generator. We spoke on the phone for over an hour, but he didn't need my help.A few months later, when he had one cube van, Kyle decided that he did need my help. His next trade was covered by the Associated Press... and a few months later, I was changing a toilet in the upstairs bathroom at his house on: 503 Main Street, in Kipling, Saskatchewan. I helped Kyle strategize over the the final 7 trades, fielding incoming press requests, planning the World's Biggest House Warming Party, and helping to secure book and movie deals for the one red paperclip story.Kyle's story has been seen just about everywhere: http://oneredpaperclip.blogspot.com/p/press.htmlPress Coverage includes: 20/20, Good Morning America, ABC World News Tonight, FUJI TV Japan, Richard and Judy, CNN Headline News, People Magazine, Metro, CTV National, CBC News, Attack of the Show G4TV, NYT, USA Today, NPR, WSJ, LAT, ABC Radio, Esquire, TV Guide, Irish Times, BBC Radio, Globe and Mail, Toronto Sun, China Daily, Seattle Times, The Whitehorse Star, and many more.***A few years later, a girl named Teresa rode her bike to a library in Huntington Beach, she checked out One Red Paperclip the book, read it, liked it, & told her friends about it. Those friends happened to also be my friends, & that girl is now my wife. <--- That's a true story, too! :)
