Drove changes and created positive disruptions to ensure the SAAS patient portal was 100% reliable and available 24/7, 365 days per year to customers and patients.• Tore down development, system engineering, and networking silos to drive change and get these groups working together to solve server and networking issues• Designed and implemented the following changes:Alerting – researched and improved current infrastructure and implemented basic alerts to warn the teams of slow login times and warn of certain database activity queues taking too long or queuing to much data. These alerts indicated a trend toward trouble. This allowed the team to take proactive measures to ensure up time.• Negotiated with product management to include more technical debt and system hardening work in the sprint cadence.• Owned server upgrades in development and production for Windows server 2008 EOL in our VMWare environment.• Worked with IT to design, plan, and implement a VLAN migration to a faster, more robust VLAN.Manage the overall CI\CD process and methods of deployment of development and production deployments for a cloud-based patient portal that handles 6 million pieces of HIPAA related patient data per day.• When I started my DevOps journey staging and production release were done manually by myself and a half dozen developers and a half dozen QA engineers. It took about 3 hours to complete this process. I automated these deploys using Jenkins freestyle jobs.• Responsible for all active directory security research, design, and implementation in cooperation with SecOps to harden security\ensure HIPAA compliance..• Led efforts for production deployments for a cloud-based patient portal that handles 5 to 6 million pieces of HIPAA related patient data per day using GIT and Jenkins freestyle jobs.
