* Manage 5 Senior Accountants in the function of financial reporting, Grants, General edger, and Fixed Assets.* Responsible for the maintenance & tracking of all city Grants & Grants Compliance. * Responsible for City wide Fixed assets including CIP & capital projects funded by debt. * Develop, update, and maintain a computer model for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Coordinate & perform Monthly, Quarterly & year-end close.* Ensure the integrity of the financial records/systems and assume primary role in improving financial systems and procedures.* Assist in the maintenance and review of fiscal records for the preparation of the City's quarterly and annual financial report (CAFR & AFIR) in accordance with GAAP & GASB. * Coordinate & resolve accounting/audit issues with external auditors (Cherry Bekaert & Holland).* Research, develop, and distribute, routine and ad hoc reports for City personnel.

Provide supervision, guidance, and direction for all accounting and finance activities which includes General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Taxes, Financial Reporting, Fixed Assets and Cash Management.Supervise and maintain consolidated financial data system structure for reporting financial results.Prepare monthly financial statements and analyze monthly results of operations.Establish and coordinate internal control policies and procedures.Prepare and file corporate taxes (sales, use, and franchise taxes).Perform financial system conversion & system upgrades.

Coordinate Month-end/year-end close and prepare the monthly financial statements.Analyze monthly results of operations & comparison to budget & forecast.Maintain Accounting and financial systems to ensure reliability and integrity.Evaluate and implement employee benefit programs including a cafeteria plan under section 125 of the IRS code, 401K, medical/dental insurance, group life and disability, and flexible spending plans.Responsible for personnel record keeping and benefit administration.
