Reporting to the Chief Geologist the purpose of my role consists :•To provide and sustain support to the geological planning and functional services in order to achieve grade and tonnage delivered to the process plant.•To control and optimize ore delivery from the mine and stockpiles at the lowest cost•Provide guidance and support to the mine geological staff to ensure the operational needs are fulfilled in an efficient, safe, professional manner•Develop the skills of peers and subordinates of the mining department•Deliver supporting services of high quality to meet business requirements in a timely manner when requested.•Ensure quarterly production schedules and forecasts are produced on a rolling monthly basis to meet production budget;•Compilation and/or review of all mining data and ensure the relevance, necessity and representativity;•Mentor national geologists;•To achieve the above objectives with due consideration to safety, the environment, statutory obligations and the efficient management of the company’s assets and human resources.

Sabodala Gold Operation (Teranga Gold Corporation,Canada)

•Pit mapping (observations and mapping of geotechnical and geological structures and features)•Collect grab samples for lithology characterizations studies•Conducting software simulations and ore optimization (Mp;Vulcan)•Design optimal ore blocks to minimize dilution and ore loss•Produce ore block mark-up plans for survey department •Produce dig plans for all relevant parties (ore spotters, mine engineering and mine operations) •Supervise and direct operations personnel and ore spotters during mining activities•Tallying and recording of ore production •Actively plan and participate in dilution programs in order to evaluate and make recommendations on improving extraction of resource during mining activities•Produce plots and cross-sections to assist in interpretations of short to medium-term resource estimation•Monitoring of Rom pad activities with regards to nomination of material destinations and blend management •Ensuring the monthly geology reconciliation (Reserve model to Grade control model ; Reserve model to Mill and Grade control model to Mill)

Geological mapping of the Sabodala Gold Mine Project (outcrops, trenches etc…)Assist senior mine geologist to set up the exploration drilling planning Field’s Supervision (Reverse Circulation and Diamond Drilling rigs) Geological logging of reverse circulation drilling chipsGeological, Structural and Geotechnical logging of the diamond drill coresCore sampling for AssaysData capturing for geological information
