Shadowed a process engineer for three months, learning about various manufacturing techniques, heat treatment methods and the motivations behind them, several kinds of NDT methods - all used in the manufacturing of rocket engines. Studied the various components of the VIKAS (stage 2) engine and the cryogenic (stage 1) engine by helping create CAD drawings and through visual inspections of hte completed parts.
