My workI promote the physical, mental and social health of the youth from 4 to 19 years in The Hague. To achieve this, I perform health check ups on children and adolescents. I detect health- and developmental problems and give information and advice on this. I have a task in the prevention of school non-attendence, in which I search for solutions for juveniles and their parents. In this role I keep close contact with schools in the districts of Loosduinen (schools for elemanty education), Segbroek and Scheveningen (schools for secondary education. I am also partly responsible for the execution of the national vaccination program (RVP). And, in collaboration with other partners within the CJG, I coordinate the care around children and families.

The Interdisciplinary Adolescence Committee is one of the expertgroups of the Dutch Association of Youth Health Care (AJN).As a delegate for the AJN I have participated in the expertteam at the RIVM to give input to the "Advice additional contact episode for 12-19 year-olds. " (‘Advies extra contactmoment in de leeftijdperiode 12 – 19 jaar’.) (2008)As a delegate fot the AJN / interdisciplinary adolescence committee I have participated in the expertteam which provided comments during the development process of a school non-attendance guideline for physicians in preventive health care for youth.
