Presently, I am a senior terminologist at SNOMED International (International Health Terminology Standards Development Organisation, IHTSDO). Whilst trained as a doctor in clinical medicine, I further studied health informatics in knowledge representation, ontology and description logic and attained a doctorate degree. Prior to joining SNOMED International, I worked as an advanced terminologist at the UK Terminology Centre in NHS and led the development and quality assurance of terminologies, SNOMED CT, Read, and the NICIP (National Interim Clinical Imaging Procedures) codes, as well as developed open source software SnoGraph to support SNOMED CT implementation.I have been working closely with internal professional bodies and contributed to the ERA-EDTA renal primary diagnosis code scheme and mappings to SNOMED CT. I have developed my knowledge of terminology bindings with information models through the national project on Logical Record Architecture.Having worked in large hospitals in China and UK, I gained expertise in the development and implementation of EHR. I also participated in international ISO, CEN and national standardization as an expert of the BSI which is the UK national standards body.
