About Yoong Shen (Alex) Loh

Alex Loh graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Informatics, with specialization in Telecomm (Media) and minor in Human-Centered Computing at Indiana University (IU) in May 2014. Upon returning to Malaysia, he completed an internship with Garena Malaysia under Otak-Otak Top 50 Program. Then, he kicked off his career as a Technical Consultant in ITApps. After a year, he decided for a change and took up the new challenge in Game Operations with Garena. He managed gaming community through social media and recruited ambassadors in ASEAN countries. Creating creative content as well as executing marketing initiatives and events were parts of his all-rounded role. Later, he was offered to lead the recruitment and employer branding initiatives in Garena Malaysia, before moving to Garena Singapore to lead the HR Operations.After close to 4 years with Garena, he moved back to his home country and joined a new but promising mobility startup, SOCAR. Recently, he decided for a break from corporate life and started his entrepreneurship in real estate.Shaped by earlier experiences in IU, he was a part-time Tech Consultant for UITS. He provided technical support for latest technologies on campus, including cloud services. He also interned for Serve IT Nonprofit Clinic. His projects included online scheduling solution for local Salvation Army's donation pick-up and widgets for Bloomington AfterSchool Network's new website.In addition, Alex Loh was enthusiastic in student activities. He was the Webmaster (Comm. Team) for AIESEC Indiana. Prior to that, he maintained the website and social media for Malaysian Student Association at IU. His specialties include event planning, marketing and branding, creative content creation, and social media marketing.
