Een beetje per toeval ben ik terecht gekomen bij Refugee Company waar ik leerwerk trajecten heb opgezet voor mensen met een vluchtachtergrond. Ergens was er de behoefte dichter bij huis en tastbaarder een verschil te willen maken.Met de oprichting van productie-naaiatelier MADE HERE komt op micro niveau veel bij elkaar. Het aankaarten van de misstanden in de kledingindustrie (fast fashion) zowel op milieu gebied als qua arbeidsomstandigheden. Banen creëren voor vakmensen die nog beschikken over de kwaliteiten om kleding te maken omdat ze uit landen komen waar veel geproduceerd wordt, terwijl we dat in Nederland kwijt zijn geraakt. Als we echter onze ecologische voetafdruk qua kleding willen verminderen ontstaat er wel degelijk vraag om in Nederland te produceren, te vermaken, te hergebruiken en te repareren.
