When rumours started about a possible lockdown in March 2020, I thought we'd miss that year's competition — there was just no way we were going to build an entire motorcycle in a lab that we wouldn't be able to access for long. That ended up being the last and best bike we ever made, but to this day, my mother's living room still reeks of fork oil. This experience showed me that you can be 27 years old and living abroad, yet still grounded.I'm Yves, a competition maniac currently on year 14 of my strategic plan to work as an F1 aerodynamicist!I got into competing during my BSc participating in the Deusto Moto Team project, where over the years I designed and manufactured the frame, swingarm, transmission, suspension, and bodywork of several motorcycles, and lead the Mechanical Engineering Division and the 30-strong team as a whole. It was a blast, and it landed me my first experience in an international team and in the automotive industry, working as a CAD&CAE Engineer in Gestamp's BU Chassis, but things got really serious when I moved to Italy in late 2021 for my MSc in Advanced Automotive Engineering - Racing Car Design in MUNER.Since then, I've had the privilege of implementing the Dynamic Tensorial Eddy Viscosity LES Model (TVM, for friends and relatives) in T-Flows, I've conducted research on the porpoising phenomenon affecting the latest generation of F1 cars, and returned to competition -now as an aerodynamicist- with the MoRe Modena Racing Formula Student team. Last November I started my PhD, working on a new formalism for improving the prediction of transition in RANS Eddy Viscosity Models and revisiting the TVM in order to branch it out for suiting different applications.
