As a Muslim, the importance of service and philanthropy have been deeply ingrained in my life, as they are one of the many pillars of this beautiful religion. Throughout my upbringing, I've upheld these values through strong community engagement alongside maintaining leadership positions through school-related programs such as Interact and Model United Nations. This laid a foundation for establishing strong leadership, a sense of empathy, and interpersonal communication skills. I started by applying my skills in the workplace as a creative director for digital advertising and videography, as well as a swimming instructor. This was also when I started my self-directed music production alias BOUZY, a multi-medium brand that I use as a vessel for my audio, video, and graphic projects. I plan to use the brand as a launching pad for charity and philanthropy events in the future! I continued my involvement with Model UN as a staffer and director for key conferences nationwide, helping introduce a new generation of delegates to policymaking. I've served in a myriad of leadership roles during my time; namely the Middle Eastern North African Student Union, Mens Water Polo Club, and the Muslim Pre-Health organization I helped found called Shifa Society SDSU. My passion for service has led to placement in the SDSU Rotaract Spring 2025 cohort, alongside recognition from the US Department of Education and SDSU Global Education Office via the Gilman Scholarship follow-on-service project I completed over the course of my study abroad experience. I had the pleasure of doing a year-long internship with Health Corps as a near-peer mentor, providing mental health and well-being resources through presentations and workshops for at-risk youth communities in the greater San Diego area. This helped me gain the necessary skills to start at the Scripps Mental Health and Well-Being Center as a patient consultant and health education intern in Spring 2025.I plan to continue to utilize every facet of my skills and experience with policy-making, service, digital graphics, videography, leadership, and presentational skills to address health crises and inspire real change in the field of Public Health. My primary focus will be on underserved and at-risk populations to mitigate Public Health risks and contribute to the fight for equitable health care across the globe 🌍
