With over 20 years as a senior executive, policy leader, entrepreneur and an educator, I look for challenges others overlook or hesitate to tackle. As a management consultant specializing in change management, leadership development and crafting and implementing strategic vision, I apply innovative business methods familiar to startups to solve problems in government, non-profits, education and other established entities in an inclusive manner.Currently serving Astia as its Global Advisory Board Member, I strive to level the playing field for women entrepreneurs by providing access to capital, networks and just-in-time advice.Where my career path and leadership style reflect my 2 passions:1) Building capacity (in myself, other individuals, teams, organizations and community)2) Rooting for the underdog• Co-founded 2 tech startups by bootstrapping: developed corporate policies that reflected our vision and culture including hiring procedures and internal training curriculum, interfaced with board members and shareholders, crafted PR and marketing strategies including pricing, oversaw financials as well as technical projects.• Led a tech-based economic development agency to financial stability through several pivots. Organized a fragmented tech community into a collaborative innovation sector to have a voice in the legislative process and to participate more fully in the community at large, to ensure economic growth at the state level.• Identified and secured funding, developed and implemented an integrative science curriculum (biology, chemistry, physics and geology concepts interwoven into an experiential course) to attract more students (esp. female) received science education.I am at my best when I am leading people towards a shared vision, and thrive when the going gets tough. Uncertainties, politics, and social expectations do not prevent me from making difficult choices that is right for my organization's missions.
