As Emergency Management Officer, I undertake daily monitoring of domestic and international energy supply emergencies across the energy sector and support key projects to improve emergency management the impact of natural disasters on the energy industry supply chain, workforce, regulatory body, and economy. Demonstrating highly developed communication skills, I have built key stakeholder relationships across the federal government, relevant jurisdictions and the energy industry and represented the Department in numerous cross-government bodies. In addition, I have generated reports for the Minister and a range of government stakeholders on energy supply incidents, risks and issues and implemented effective energy emergency management policies and processes.During the 2019 – 2020 bushfire crisis in Australia, I delivered timely briefings to the Minister’s Office for Industry, Energy and Emissions Reduction on energy supply emergencies, resulting in commendation for providing quality outcomes whilst managing competing priorities. Our section received the Outstanding Contribution Award and a personal thank you from the Secretary for our work.Demonstrating my strong stakeholder management and communication skills, in August 2021 I successfully facilitated the border crossing of an essential worker from NSW to the Northern Territory at a time when border crossings were highly regulated and restricted during COVID-19. To achieve this, I negotiated with numerous stakeholders to seek approval for relocating the worker to the NT for four months to manage the critical infrastructure of the Northern Gas Pipeline near Tennant Creek. After successfully communicating the risks and benefits and emphasising the importance of essential services to the broader community, the essential worker was granted permission to relocate to maintain the pipeline’s infrastructure as a critical component of Australia’s energy supply.

As Assistant Project Manager, I documented internal processes and standard operating procedures and prepared accessibility conformance reports in alignment with mandatory web standards. This included developing and publishing the Web Accessibility Guidelines in compliance with the mandated Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Version 2.0 (WCAG 2.0). These guidelines were then utilised by developers and project teams when designing web pages and web applications in line with the user acceptance criteria for people with disabilities.

As Acting EL1 Persons of Interest (POI) Officer, I reviewed visa, citizenship, and cancelled cases against community protection indicators to identify possible threats to the Australian community. Leveraging my project management skills, I developed systems, processes, and standard operating procedures to establish the new POI Section, as a high priority for the Department following the Martin Place siege.

As the lead representative and IT coordinator for the Enterprise Correspondence Systems (ECS) Section, I regularly attended Change Approval Boards and Change Release meetings with key stakeholders and negotiated with relevant areas to achieve timely and successful deployments. In this role, I managed multiple IT change releases for the section and assigned, monitored work within the section and ensured delivery timeframes were consistently achieved.

Within the Project Management Office, I developed and maintained guidelines and standard operating procedures for the project management group, coordinated the recruitment process of project managers, conducted referee checks, collected project finance data, and produced project reports. Furthermore, within this role I worked within the Security and IT Service Operations Branch to provide project support for complex projects, including the Middleware Capability Improvements project, Tivoli project and Network Security Improvements project.In addition, I undertook extensive program management duties for the Visa Pricing Transformation Program, including establishing governance, onboarding new project managers, managing risks and issues, developing project scheduling, and preparing program reporting.

As APS6 Project Coordinator, I delivered numerous ICT projects, including the PC Asset Replacement project, Windows 7 rollout project and Microsoft Project Server rollout. In addition, I improved resources management within the Branch by redefining processes and procedures for resource management, resulting in greater transparency across the group, enabling project managers to plan their project schedules in accordance with resource availability.
