• As a subject matter expert, provide research analysis and consolidated strategic recommendations related to the healthcare business, policy-making, research, and development for the firm’s Japanese clients who are expanding their business in U.S., Japanese, and global markets. • Responsible for researching and advising Japanese clients strategically about practices, policy, and scientific advancements in healthcare and biotech sectors in the US. Projects will include investigating and advising around developments in 1) Managed care for healthcare payer-providers, 2) R&D in both medical devices and vaccines, 3) Oncology, 4) Nursing care, 5) Digital control of Diabetes, and 6) Digital health.• Research results and recommendations are used for various Japanese companies’ internal and public reporting, for example, white papers and other official communications and reports for government-related bodies.

• Managed internal and external R&D Communications (portal site, town halls, corporate website, senior leaders’ messaging, mass media interface); successfully structured stakeholder R&D Communications network, contributing to higher rankings on major indexes (for example, on the ESG Index – Dow Jones and Access to Medicine Index) • Responsible for learning and change management; for example, created, managed, and conducted research initiatives during COVID-19 to increase productivity of R&D staff working from home; strategized future best practices for Japanese staff. Influenced HR to implement best practices; as a result, the initial US R&D employee workplace satisfaction rate increased by 3% in January 2022. Results are reflected in the revised HR working policy and mechanisms.• Strategic activities improved the efficiency of R&D senior leadership meetings, transparency, increased learning, operational excellence, and enhanced employee experience, helping shorten launch time to accelerate delivery of oncology products to patients.• Led efficient strategic operations of global R&D senior leadership meetings as the coordination office member to accelerate more transparent and faster decision-making. • Drove R&D risk management strategies, including communicating to enable planning and implementation of business continuity plan; helped revise BCP with COVID-19 protocols, as well as revisions necessitated by the loss of access to raw materials from Ukraine (due to the Russia-Ukraine war), enabling senior leaders to make better strategic and tactical plans.

• Promoted R&D 2025 vision development and facilitated tracking to key R&D workstreams as chief of staff for the global head of R&D and a senior leadership team member. Led a seven-member cross-functional and cross-regional coordination team for leveraging the vision development and completing the workstream as planned. • Prioritized business cases for global R&D in cooperation with Tokyo HQ (i.e., R&D communications, employee engagement, employee training, learning events). Designed and promoted multiple projects to leverage organizational capability in oncology to deliver our science to patients, such as the improvement of the confidential information disclosure process and the global R&D leadership meeting. • Led a cross-functional and cross-regional team designing and executing a series of business onboarding training sessions for newly hired R&D colleagues (once a month for around 20 colleagues each). Helped improve turnover rate and better understanding of our company in the US.• Created and oversaw a first-of-its-kind, internal, interactive employees’ learning event, the Science Symposium in 2017 and 2018, which showcased 140 posters and scientific discussions. Implemented and received positive feedback on this successful series of learning initiatives for global employees utilizing digital technologies. • Supported the global RD head for his external activities in the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, gaining a broad global perspective of policy making and other processes between the pharmaceutical industry, government, the FDA and the medical community.

• Oversaw the entire project management of global marketing strategies and alliance management, budget/resource management and tactics for Olmesartan, an original anti-hypertension medicine, collaborating with 30 business partners. Developed and conducted accredited educational programs for global key opinion leaders in the therapeutic field of hypertension. Contributed to the achievement of $5B in global sales and number one global market share in 2015.• Led several projects for the global, cross-functional, anti-hypertension medical and communication programs, including managing a 10-member franchise teams to maximize the value of the entire franchise. • Led the educational program development and execution for 30 global key opinion leaders on hypertension, ‘The Hypertension Masterclass,’ which was certified by the European Board for Accreditation in Cardiology; initiated the employee learning initiative in Japan HQ and established it as a sustained series.

•Strategized and implemented the overall global corporate social responsibility strategy, programs, sustainability reporting, and internal/external stakeholder communications. •Improved the company’s position and bettered transparency efforts for external stakeholder communications in the Access to Medicine Index 2016 supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundations and the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices World Index.

•Initiated and oversaw the clinical development management system of performance evaluation, hiring, training, and budget tracking among R&D functions in Shanghai, Beijing, Taipei, Hong Kong, Thailand, Seoul, and Western/Japanese R&D hub; Promoted R&D organizational excellence with 50 local colleagues in Asia.•Created a successful series of Women’s Leadership Initiatives in Japan HQ. •Completed Clinical Research Associate (CRA) training and received the CRA certificate in Japan.

Contributed to maximizing the $3B ‘levofloxacin’ (anti-infective agent) franchise brand sales and steered the global marketing project strategy and tactics in cooperation with Johnson & Johnson, Aventis, and GlaxoSmithKline, and business partners in Latin Americas, Turkey, and Asian countries. Contributed to maximizing the $700M oncology product ‘irinotecan’ in cooperation with Pfizer in the US. Successfully concluded a new business deal for a hematological therapeutic drug in the US by partnering with a venture company in Cincinnati.

•Implemented several Phase 4 studies of cardiovascular, wound healing, orthopedic, and hematology products in a regulated environment by GPMSP. •Published Phase 4 study results in international congresses and academic journals. •Contributed to several process quality improvement projects, such as 1. the package insert development process, 2. collaboration between Medical Affairs/ RD/ Sales & Marketing, and 3. phase 4 study database system.
