Co FounderPedicab Promo Jan 2006 - Oct 2006Greater New York City AreaDuring my MBA study in NYIT, I had the chance of applying one of my marketing assignments in real life. The idea was to get ads on 3 wheeled bike taxis. We had made a deal with one of the garage owners based on Revenue Sharing. My partner Onur was a very creative person and a web developer. He had designed a website; we put stickers on the back of 50 pedicabs promoting our business. We have received couple of local requests as either ads on the back of bikes or scheduled bike rides. As Javits convention center was a popular pickup spot for pedicab riders, we have contacted the participants for upcoming shows. Our biggest project was with Lazytown Entertainment from Iceland. LazyTown is a children’s entertainment brand dedicated to promoting health and wellbeing in a fun way. They were attending the licensing expo and pedicab promo provided them 20 bike taxis, with drivers dressed as Sportacus, the main character in the show, offering free rides to popular spots with a voucher that could be obtained from their boot. Unfortunately, we couldn’t expand the business as we didn’t have a solid agreement with the bike garage owner.
