I got funding from the Föreningen för medicinsk statistik (FMS) and Cancerfonden to support a research visit with the primary objective of advancing my career as a biostatistician. During this visit, I had the privilege of collaborating with a student from Queensland University of Technology, a prominent institution in Bayesian Analysis. Together, we enhanced existing methodologies for estimating life expectancy among cancer patients. Throughout the visit, I talked with experts in Spatial and Bayesian models, enriching my understanding of cutting-edge techniques. I am eager to explore these methods to analyze geographical variations in life expectancy among cancer patients in Sweden. This research has the potential to yield valuable insights into regional disparities in healthcare outcomes for this patient population.
