• Provide consultations and language services, such as writing, editing, translating, and proof-reading • Work on a wide variety of formal and informal texts which include reports, speeches, advertisements, proposals, presentation slides, brochures, minutes, announcements, etc.• Manage clients from different sectors, i.e. higher education institutions, local publishers, kindergartens, marketing firms, TV broadcast companies, etc.

Key responsibilities:• Draft, translate, edit, and proofread academic manuscript, academic proposal, research tool (e.g., questionnaire, material of experiment, etc.), report, grant application, publicity material, agreement, etc. • Collect and organise research data, and conduct literature review and literature search on Chinese Linguistics, Chinese Language Education, and Teaching Chinese as a Second Language• Conduct basic SPSS-based calculation and data managementKey Achievements:• Translated (Chinese-to-English) 6 academic manuscripts and edited 13 academic manuscripts on Chinese Linguistics and Chinese Language Education for publication, ensuring accuracy and adherence to journal guidelines.• Drafted 2 successful university-level grant proposals, securing over $200,000 in funding for research and academic projects aimed at establishing multilateral collaborations among the department and other top-ranking institutes within and beyond Asia, resulting in the exchange of expertise, joint publications, and increased visibility and impact for the department's research and teaching mission.• Editorial assistant for two academic publications: Character Teaching and Learning in L2 Chinese Classrooms: From Theory to Practice (published by Vietnam National University, Hanoi) and Teacher’s Handbook for Enhancement of Motivation in Learning Chinese Language (published by CHL, EdUHK), providing critical editing work and ensuring timely publication.• Supported a cross-disciplinary research commissioned by SCOLAR, Study on Transition of Chinese Language Learning and Teaching of Non-Chinese Speaking Children from Kindergarten Education to Primary Education, by proofreading and translating research materials and manuscripts.

Provided tailor made peer assisted learning via individual and group tutoring sessions to students in predetermined courses, and reported directly to the PLF Coordinator and the Teaching and Learning Centre.

Responsible for Chinese Language class and History class in Form 1 and 2, and Mathematics class and World History class in Form 4.

The camp was to motivate the Primary Six Students who will be sitting for UPSR public examination by getting them prepared psychologically and mentally. They were to learn the methods of preparing for an examination and how to cope with stress and expectations from the surrounding and the students themselves. Also, they played a lot of team-building games which taught them the theories of living as a group as well as the meaning of growing up from a child at a primary school to a teenager at a secondary school.

Joined by all the best Chinese Orchestras from the educational institutions in Sabah, Chinese Orchestra Festival is a biennial event in Sabah State which includes a Chinese Orchestra training camp at the first part of the event and public performance on a statewide arena at the end of the event. Famous and great Chinese Orchestra performers, tutors and conductors from Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Mainland China and Japan gather together with all the orchestras' members to carry out professional training consecutively for a week and to do a performance together on the stage finally, celebrating the outstandingly touching results, which are the successive Chinese arts, cultures and spirits, achieved by our Chinese ancestors on the earth of Malaysia.
