Dr. Yunpeng Su has 20+ years of research and drug R&D experience in pharmaceutical industry and academia. He is currently CEO and co-founder of HC Biopharma Inc in Shanghai and responsible for the overall strategy and operations of the company. Dr. Su has served as vice president and head of biologics discovery in Zai Lab Ltd, leading R&D team for preclinical development of therapeutic antibodies in both USA and China. He is holding visiting professor position in SINH, CAS where his work is funded by Shanghai Science and Technology Commission. Prior to joining Zai Lab, Dr. Su was CEO at NovoMab Biopharmaceuticals Inc. led the R&D team to develop novel antibodies, bispecific antibodies and nanobodies, of which 3 products have been licensed out. Dr. Su came back to China from the U.S. in 2011.7 and joined Simcere group as executive scientific director, R&D, where he built the antibody drug discovery platform and managed discovery team to promote Simcere’s novel biologics discovery. Before 2011, during his stay in U.S., Dr. Su was assistant professor & associate director, Cancer Research Institute, Scott & White Hospital at Texas A&M University, College of Medicine, USA. His research focused on a variety of anti-cancer drug discovery including antibodies, recombinant proteins and small molecules. He also led preclinical studies and development on several recombinant protein and immunotoxin drugs. Dr. Su received his M.Sc. in protein engineering and molecular biology from Peking University and Ph.D. in biochemistry and immunology from University of Oxford, UK.
