Yuri Alves is a writer-director who has won over a dozen film awards. Alves has been hired by production companies in New York, Los Angeles and Europe to direct a range of projects, including primetime television series, commercials, music videos, promos and more. His independent narrative short films continue to screen in festivals around the world. His last film project, “Broken Clouds,” won the support of a strong fan base as well as multiple awards worldwide. The two primetime television episodes he directed in Portugal from the series "Tempo Final" were met with critical acclaim.Apart from his commercial work, Alves is currently working on a feature documentary, two feature narrative films, and his highly anticipated short film "Exit Road." DreamPlay Media + Productions is a multiple award-winning integrated branding and creative digital media studio, with a cinematic edge. I co-founded the company with my brother Igor, and we have been able to grow our portfolio into a great mix of creative projects and works for socially-oriented clients. As Creative Director, I oversee the production of our commissioned works that range from short films, PSAs and commercials to fashion films, music videos and more. My approach is not just to express something different for the sake of different, but to understand what works best in line with the profile and goals of the client, artist or partner.

Stopline is arguably the leading Portuguese television and film production company, and producers of the most provocative and innovative narrative content on Portuguese television.Most recently directed the primetime crime TV series "Filha de Lei""Tempo Final" is an international primetime suspense / drama mini-series that features stand-alone episodes every week. I directed two of the six critically acclaimed episodes - "A Armadilha" and "Mano a Mano", which were also syndicated world-wide on the RTPi channel.Since 2009, I have also been contracted several times by Stopline to help direct, edit and assist on several original and commercial projects.

Madatoms is a digital media initiative of 20th Century Fox, and produces original web content and series. I was Cinematographer, Editor and Head of Production, coordinating among producers, cast, production and post-production crew and others. I also produced some of the original series.

I was an in-house video editor at Fox Digital, working from the 20th Century Fox Lot in Century City. The editing projects ranged from sizzle reels to feature film trailers. I also served as Assistant Editor on the web series "Suit Up", and I optimized video uploads, reformatted projects, worked at colorist, sound editor and designer on several projects.
