The Autaza Glass is a camera-based solution for defect detection (optical distortion) on float glass, using reflection and refraction of light on a sample piece. Autaza Color is an RGB camera-based solution to measure and compare colors from automotive paint samples. It used colorimetry and spectrophotometry concepts to acquire images from two samples and calculate the difference using Delta E formula.     Software engineering in the Autaza Paint product, a software and robotic solution for Automotive Paint Quality Inspection.In the automotive industry, there are several processes for quality inspection to guarantee the quality of the vehicle before delivering it to the final client. The car paint is a critical part, where any defect is easily noticed by the client and has to be repaired before final delivery. In this stage of the project, I worked directly with the team that developed the image processing and computer vision algorithms to identify these defects. The data acquisition process uses a proprietary imaging equipment that is installed on an industrial robotic arm. The acquisition process is automated, and the acquired images are processed in real time to identify defects, such as dirt, bubbles, scratches, orange peel.During this time, the team also developed the integration of software and industrial automation systems. The synchronization between robot control, image acquisition, image processing and report generation was critical for the system to operate in real time during production without delay.
