I am working as a postdoctoral scholar at The University of California, Los Angeles. My primary research interest is focused on revealing structure-function relationships of metalloproteins through small model complexes and proteins. Nature uses various structural scaffolds to carry out specific reactions using a benign oxidant, for example, O2, under mild conditions. The structure-function relationships of metalloproteins can teach us about how to develop sustainable catalysts, importantly using earth-abundant metals. I have investigated the structure-function relationships of metalloproteins, small model complexes, and short model peptides using multiple spectroscopic techniques since my master's training. I was trained and achieved my PhD in Chemistry at The University of Kansas. My core competencies are scientific knowledge and technical skills in the fields of bioinorganic chemistry and biochemistry.
