Thesis Title: “Identification of protein-coding and non-coding RNA expression profiles as prognostic markers of prostate cancer biochemical recurrence”.Supervisor: Dr Sergio Verjovski-Alimeida, PhD- Review of literature on the expression of non-coding RNAs to find intronic transcripts associated with prostate cancer, and search for prognostic markers of recurence;- Study by gene expression microrarrays of 42 cancer samples, and validation of positive findings on an external group of 22 samples.- Development of in-house software for data processing, statistical analysis, signature identification and validation.
