Yelbegen UAV Team is a team consisting of Middle East Technical University students. Its aim is to develop products in line with the needs of Turkey in unmanned aerial vehicle concepts. Interdisciplinary studies are carried out with 7 team members studying in various majors. Our team was established in 2022 and continues to work with the focus of Teknofest International Free Mission UAV Competition.

Since the day it was founded, METU Young Entrepreneurs Community has made it its main duty to instill the spirit of entrepreneurship in METU students and to explain the fact that entrepreneurship is an important concept for the Turkish and World economy. In addition, with projects; but to establish a basis for information exchange by establishing connections between students who do not have the chance to practice and institutions and organizations that support entrepreneurship in Turkey, to enable these institutions and organizations to support the projects of METU Young Entrepreneurs, to create an environment where members of the community can exchange ideas and produce joint projects. Among the other aims of the Young Entrepreneurs Community is to provide trainings that will help students develop their entrepreneurial knowledge and skills.

I took part as the local lead of the event organized by NASA for the last 10 years in 2021. NASA gives place to the current categories that is determined every year in this competition. Participants choose one of the subtitles belonging to these categories and try to solve the problem of that subtitle for 48 hours. At the end of 48 hours, they present their projects to the juries and enter a local (Ankara) ranking. The top 3 teams compete globally and rank the finalist teams in their own categories and determine the first teams. NASA awards some great prizes such as watching a rocket launch in US to the winning teams. In this event, which we organized online with 628 participants, we both broke our own participant record and maintained our title as one of the places with the highest number of participants in Space Apps. As the Ankara location that I lead, we arranged an online meeting where we provided the opportunity for competitors from different countries to come together for the first time, and thus we took Space Apps' international cooperation principle one step further. In addition, this year, a team from Ankara reached Final Evaluations with their projects, and it made us proud as the first team from Turkey to reach the finals in the Global Evaluations.

NASA'nın 10 yıldır düzenlediği etkinliğin 2021 yılı Ankara yerel lideri olarak yer aldım. Bu yıl etkinliği 2-3 Ekim tarihleri arasında düzenledik. NASA bu yarışmada her yıl belirlediği güncel kategorilere yer veriyor. Katılımcılar bu kategorilere ait alt başlıklardan bir tanesini seçip 48 saat boyunca o alt başlığa ait problemi çözmeye çalışıyorlar. 48 saatin yani 2 günün sonunda jürilere sunum yapıyorlar ve yerelde (Ankara) bir sıralamaya giriyorlar. İlk 3 sırayı alan takımlar küreselde yarışıyorlar ve finale çıkan takımları kendi kategorilerinde sıralayıp birinci olan takımları belirliyorlar. Kazanan takımlara NASA'nın belirlediği, roket atışını seyretmek, bazı harika ödüller veriyor.
