The Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy (NIMD) is a democracy assistance organisation based in The Hague. NIMD facilitates dialogue processes between (parliamentary) political parties and encourages parties to cooperate on relevant political and policy issues. In addition, NIMD supports capacity building for political parties. NIMD contributes to fostering a democratic culture through education programmes for politicians on democratic values, knowledge and skills. In Uganda, NIMD supports two interrelated programmes, the interparty dialogue programme commonly referred to as IPOD (Inter-Party Organisation for Dialogue) and the capacity strengthening programme for political parties.

The University Forum on Governance (UNIFOG) is a think-tank that works to link academics and development experts to the policy making process in Uganda. Based on an MoU with Makerere University, UNIFOG foreruns research, publications, and policy dialogues with academics, civil society representatives, state actors and independent consultants.

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) is a German political foundation working to promote democracy, human rights, the rule of law and solidarity around the world. The foundation employs civic education, dialogue and analysis as tools for deepening democracy, improving economic policies, and facilitating social justice. KAS’ work in Uganda involves partnerships with civil society and state actors in engaging to strengthen the knowledge base, build skills, and promote values for leadership, democracy and economic regulation.
