I graduated with my Bachelors in Economics from the University of Sierra Leone in 2004, worked for a year and half at the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT) in Freetown, Sierra Leone. In June 2006 I was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to study for my masters at the University of Kansas. Upon Completing my Masters, I proceeded to study for a PhD in Economics at Kansas and I earned my PhD in May 2014. I taught at the University of Kansas as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for five years while doing my PhD. Between 2014 and 2015, I also taught at the Business School at Avila University in Kansas City MO, the School of Professional and Graduate Studies (SPGS) at Baker University in Overland Park KS, and Neosho County Community College in Ottawa KS. I got a full time teaching position at Clark College in Vancouver WA in August 2015 and I currently a Professor of Economics here.I have a strong commitment towards promoting academic excellence, professional development and the promotion of academic diversity. I have experience teaching online, face-to-face and hybrid/blended classes. In addition to introductory level economics courses, I also teach Intermediate Micro and Macro, Development Economics, International Economics, Managerial Economics and Quantitative Methods.My current research is on issues relating to the impact of foreign direct investment in developing countries, with a focus on the Sub-Saharan Africa region. I am currently working on two papers for publication in the Journal of Development Economics.
