(1) Created and maintained an object detection pipeline using computer vision, including object identification, localization, classification, tracking, and sensor fusion functions for an autonomous self-parking system by applying YOLO (You-Only-Look-Once) algorithm and Kalman filter. The system was developed using MATLAB Simulink and implemented into an NVIDIA Drive platform to detect objects around the ego vehicle and help determine the optimal route to an empty parking space.(2) Formulated a Driving Score Algorithm using a supervised machine learning model in MATLAB environments to evaluate the driver’s behavior and provide feedback to improve energy efficiency and extend the driving range.(3) Researched and developed a Battery Health Estimator using an artificial neuron network in Python to predict the remaining useful life to evaluate the relationship between battery usage and battery life(4) Collaborated with the software engineering production team to develop the vehicle control unit, from ideation and requirements definition to deployment using MATLAB Simulink

(1) Collected and Performed Electric Vehicle (EV) charging data analysis on the UCLA campus to predict EV users’ charging behavior and optimize the charging schedule to reduce power peak, with 150 users’ charging records over three years(2) Optimized the EV charging schedule simulation considering solar generation, dynamic electricity price, and building load to reduce the EV charging cost by 3% and the netload variation by 47%(3) Devised an ensembled machine learning approach using Python to predict EV stay duration and energy consumption resulting in error reductions by 11% and 21%(4) Developed and implemented anomaly detection algorithm using a machine learning model and correlation network analysis in Python for a smart EV charging network, with an F-Score of 89.90 and accuracy of 94.4%.(5) Created and maintained the data analytics pipeline on cloud hosting by c-Panel, including data warehousing, data query by SQL, data processing, and machine learning models in PythonAlso, I coordinated technical proposal for research funding of the following:☞ Intelligent Ride-Hailing Service Framework for Autonomous Electric Vehicles to the State of California Dept. of Transportation (Caltrans) through Pacific Southwest Region University Transportation Center.
