From a young age, I had a passion for entrepreneurship, starting with my first "business" of selling chewing gum to my primary school friends (until my teacher found out!). This entrepreneurial spirit continued with fun side hustles throughout university.Despite my interest in business, I also loved science and to experiment. That lead me to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering, graduating from the University of Bath in 2000. I joined PETRONAS at 21 as an operations engineer in a newly pre-commissioned PVC plant. After a brief stint in shift work, I transitioned to operations planning, managing the business side of plant operations to ensure optimal chemical stock levels and market-aligned production.In 2007, I moved to the upstream sector as a Business & Development Executive, overseeing the implementation of EOR projects in Malaysia. Leveraging my engineering background and quick learning ability, it was a smooth transition, and I was directly involved in a significant commercial negotiation for the groundbreaking 2008 PSC with ExxonMobil, resulting in the world's first offshore EOR WAG project in the Tapis field.As a Petroleum Economist, I progressed to the Custodian level in late 2023, achieving notable milestones in PSC negotiations, commercial arrangements, and integrated gas & LNG projects.
