Greetings! My name is Yvan and I am current undergraduate student studying chemistry at the University of Calgary. Throughout my education, I have been taught various skills such as lab safety/management, accurate sample preperation, following simple reaction schemes to yield certain products and hands on experience with modern industry machines used in commercial labs. During my education I have also garnered contemptible skill in using software such as Microsoft Office and simple programs to interpret sample analysis such peak simple for the GC. While software and technical skills are very important in a job, developing interpersonal skills such as empathy and clear communication with your team is just as important. Any job in this current day requires a great deal of teamwork and that is why I have also decided to partake in volunteering, to develop these skills.
