Internship to complete my Master's of Political Management. During this time, I engaged in high-level discussions, meetings and planning events. Communicated to senior management and officials about political activity and information that was relevant to the department. Acquired the following skills: media monitoring and analysis, internal communications, writing briefing notes, writing memorandum to cabinets, parliamentary plans, Question Period monitoring.

Specialists are responsible for supporting the effective management of departmental information throughout its life cycle by: implementing government-wide policies, directives and standards; adopting as appropriate procedures, guidelines, tools and best practices, as well as developing supporting departmental information management initiatives; supporting integration of IM requirements into departmental business and information technology strategies and plans; and analyzing newly introduced or changed legislation, policies and standards for IM impact.

As a member of the management team I promote a group environment while accomplishing a set of daily tasks that include customer service, cleaning, restocking of products, money handling and administrative tasks. This position requires discretion and professionalism when dealing with Members of Parliament, Senators and foreign dignitaries.

In this fast paced job, I was responsible rallying team efforts to deliver positive results. This position required sound judgment to resolve problems efficiently and with integrity. While working, I managed between 4- 16 people on a regular basis. This position required customer service, quick thinking, money handling, excellent time management and flexibility. I formed and adhered to new policies to enhance the workplace. Time management, punctuality, the ability to foresee problems and learning to deal with various types of personality are all skills and abilities I learned at this job. I was recognized as employee of the month at two different locations and within a year promoted to manager.
