Lactips designs, develops and manufactures an eco-friendly plastic raw material made of milk protein answering to human useful needs and the necessity to protect the planet. This innovative and clean product is water soluble and biodegradable which makes it perfect for several types of markets.Casein, one of milk proteins, is a massive and destroyed resource. This substance is renewable, biodegradable and compostable. Lactips uses unsuitable milk for human consumption for its non-food applications.Market possibilities are large. But, Lactips launched its first product on the detergent market: a water soluble and biodegradable wrapping for hard tablets and powder uni-doses used for dishwashers and washing machines. It substitutes a water-soluble petro-sourced polymer, called polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). Lactips has developed a solution with a huge variety of properties such as: water solubility in hot and cold water, full biodegradability, printability, oxygen barrier, industrial compatibility on all the plastics processes lines and it can be even edible.Lactips’ material is disruptive as it opens up new markets, enables major actors of detergent industry to innovate and provides greener and better products like dishwashing and washing machines tablets.
