Innovating and developing mice and keyboards for PC, Mac, Gaming, Tablets and seeds for new categories.✔ Organised and facilitated workshops including several annual portfolio renewals, gathering global marketing, engineering, portfolio and procurement leaders in a week long seminar. ✔ Redeployed resources and reduced time-to-market for new tablet opportunities. As a result, the keyboard for iPad became the #1 selling product of the company and the mobile category grew from 0 to $173M revenue in 3 years. ✔ Between 2008 and 2014, the products developed in this engineering division grew the company from $1.1B to $1.4B, i.e. from 57% to 67% of the overall company revenue. ✔ Partnering with five different Business Unit General Managers and the CEO, engaged in strategic changes, addressing opportunities, maximizing available resources and evolving the organizational design of engineering. ✔ Managed a group of up to 400 engineers globally distributed over six sites. Enforced regular talent reviews, hired, developed and groomed several leaders that evolved within engineering and other critical functions within Logitech.✔ Acted as internal consultant for several business units, aligning organisational design to their innovation strategy.

Investigated and developed mice, trackballs and presentation devices for the retail market as well as probes such as the Digital IO Pen. ✔ Set up innovation, systematic technology exploration and customer insights methods.✔ Partnered closely with marketing counterparts and defined the strategy, the roadmap and a global execution plan of double digit category growth. Delivered growth from $245M to $534M annually.✔ Introduced the 1st wireless optical mouse, the 1st laser mouse, the 1st gaming mouse and the 1st three-dimensional navigation device. Filed 9 patents (see http://patents.justia.com/inventor/yves-karcher)✔ Personally investigated the presenter market and opportunity, interviewing customers and stakeholders. As a result, developed a simple concept that translated into a successful product line. ✔ Managed staff of 70 engineers, over 4 sites. Setup robust and global project management and virtual teams environments.

✔ Responsible for IT and Quality management for the European sites. Deployed collaboration and workflow tools to foster teamwork, streamline and automate internal processes realizing a paperless office in 1992!✔ Directed the Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) project, the biggest project ever achieved in the company (100+ team members). All critical enterprise processes where mapped graphically. The project was successfully deployed and became critical to the fast growth pace of the company

✔ Developed PC based software (based on OS/2 Presentation Manager) running on an Electro Erosion Machine Tool. The machine tool was the first one to be controlled with a trackball. ✔ Managed the User Interface and related tools.

✔ Developed the network box (HP2345A) connecting 48 terminals to HP 9000 via Ethernet. ✔ Optimized testing and manufacturing.
