I began my career at the British Film Institute which combined my job as a photographer with gaining and ONC and HNC at Paddington College (now City of Westminster College). Working for the Press Office and Education Departments producing multimedia packages and covering a number of BFI events including the awards and fellowships along with picture researching for publications including the BFI Handbook. My freelance work began in the late 90s shooting interiors but by the fluke of a single job I found myself moving into people photography. There is a narrative element to my work that can be seen whether it's a corporate event or a series of portraits and my aim is always to tell a story of the client’s day and event. Early experience in school photography and working with the education departments of clients such as the Royal Historic Palaces and The National Archive have enabled me to develop my skills in working with children and young people as well as adults.I have been complemented on my discretion at public events and my ability to make my sitters feel comfortable and help them to enjoy the experience of having their photograph made. Since 2007 I has been a regular attendant at international film festivals including Cannes and Venice making portraits of film talent.My clients come from a variety of sectors that stretch from corporate to arts, including government, the film industry and editorial, and her relationship with the BFI continues to this day.Since 2017 I've completed my Masters in Documentary Photography & Photojournalism at the University of Westminster and PgCert in Academic Practice in Art, Design & Communication at University of the Arts London where I am an Associate Lecturer.I love to teach and learn!
