Through the Trees aims to address the digital divide, which NCBroadband defines as “the gap between those who have access to technology, the internet, and digital literacy training, and those that do not.” Although we aim to serve all Transylvania County residents affected by the digital divide, the issue impacts people of color and the rural poor more than other demographics.
