Clinical Support Nurse for the Operating Theatre at The Northern Hospital and cross campus at Broadmeadows Health Service.

I am currently working full time as an ANUM of ENT, Hepatobiliary, colorectal and upper GI at The Surgery Centre operating theatres (Repatriation Hospital) I rotate in the floor co-ordinator position of 8 operating theatres, 2 endoscopy suits and an 18 bay recovery. My role consists of clinical hours and non-clinical. Some of my portfolio includes:Hang hygiene auditorKronos entry (rostering program used at Austin Health)Htrak portfolio - including finding cost effective changes, setting up and maintaining scanning kits, educating staff. Website updates for our department homepage (internal page) I often cover our NUM in her absence and have therefore had experience in HR issues and solutionsOHS issues and solutionsOperating theatre allocations and template balancingKPI targets I have also been a project officer in the HTrak merger project (2014) which included setting up HTrak in the Austin operating theatres for patient expenditure and costing. The main objective of the project was to cleanse the data across multiple databases and merge them into one main database. This project also involved ensuring all consumables were put into the HTrak system, and educating staff on how to use the system. Communication to staff was a key component of this project.

Peri-operative Subject Matter Expert for Surginet (Cerner millennium software)Assisting the team with knowledge of the requirements in theatre segments of the computer software. Involvement in the development of electronic preference cards. Creation of contents of electronic documentation & reduction of paper based documentation.

I completed my post-graduate certificate of peri-operative nursing at The Northern Hospital and continued to gain experience and knowledge. During my time here, I became a CNS in ENT and began doing shifts as floor co-ordinator of 6 theatres. I am currently also working for The Northern Hospital on casual basis (bank)
