I am presently exploring new opportunities!Top skills: leadership, authentic relationship building, strategic planning, innovative project management, & organizational development.Utilizing data & outcome measures, along with equity & diversity strategies, my social work career involved supervising child welfare staff with the goal of safety, wellbeing, and timely permanency for children and families. It was meaningful work. I am proud that I had the grit & dedication to serve my community for many years.One of my many roles with the DCF included being a certified TIPS-MAPP Training Leader, where I provided trauma-informed training & facilitated support groups for foster/ adoptive parents for many years. Another particularly rewarding responsibility, was developing a multi-channel messaging strategy to successfully communicate the story of Connecticut’s most vulnerable foster children through media, cause-marketing and special events. I earned the invitation to write radio ad spots & press releases along with radio & newspaper interviews. To that end, I have produced and managed over forty awareness, fundraising, & retention events. As a result, I was particularly successful in fostering professional relationships with members of the media while building community investment from key constituents such as local agencies, businesses, & political leaders.Additionally, I served as the employee Wellness Lead & representative for the statewide Community of Practice. Due to the nature of CPS work—and the high probability for social workers to experience vicarious trauma—I led efforts to engage our workforce and provide educational workshops, training, & activities to promote resilience. This role included budget management & strategic planning with our leadership team.My volunteer work included spearheading a grassroots effort as Chair of Compassion through Action. This group of local officials, students, & professionals came together with a mission to build a more compassionate and resilient community. Globally, I continue to be the Social Services Lead Ambassador for the international Charter for Compassion. This role has restored my faith in humanity!
