Histotechnician/ Lab Manager• Preparation of specimens for interpretation which may include: assigning case numbers, dissection of specimen, marking specimen, preparation of slides for interpretation by physician/surgeon. • Assure all specimens sent out are referenced and documented, properly packaged and labeled.• Process in-coming Slide Preps for interpretation and log results• Maintain & verify requisitions and audit all log books.• Write and maintain policy and procedures for all laboratories according to CLIA requirements including safety, quality assurance and proficiency.• Maintain laboratory policy and procedure manuals for all facilities.• Interim OSHA and HIPPA officer.• Quality control for all electronic laboratory files, slide file system and ensure accurate documentation for all specimens entering the laboratory for in-house processing.• Manage inventory to assure uninterrupted operation of in-house testing for multiple laboratories.• Responsible for maintenance of all laboratory equipment used for in-house testing and processing including cryostat, slide stainer and multiple microscopes

• Process incoming clinical and pathology specimens.• Collection of clinical laboratory samples from hospital patients.• Maintain all pathology log books and frozen section slides according to CLIA requirements.• Processing of fresh tissue samples from the operating room for immediate interpretation by the pathologist

• Process incoming clinical specimens.• Collection of clinical laboratory specimens from hospital patients.• Processing of fresh frozen tissue samples from the operating room for immediate interpretation by the pathologist.• Maintain complete pathology slide filing system.• Responsible for Breast Cancer Registry for hospital system, including sending out tissue blocks for treatment testing.
