Yvonne is a former Protective Services Worker who possesses valuable knowledge and insight into the child welfare system. Having recently graduated with a Master's in macro practice Social Work from Boston University, she is enthusiastic about leveraging her work experience, education, and skills to contribute to the Wellness initiatives led by the San Diego State University Social Policy Institute (SPI). During her time as a graduate intern for SPI, September 2021 to December 2022, Yvonne actively supported the Wellness System work in Ventura. Additionally, she played a key role in co-developing and co-training SPI’s Community Health Worker/Community Care Coordinator training program. Following her internship, Yvonne took on a part-time position as a Lead Project Coordinator, and has now transitioned into a full-time role with SPI as a Wellness Project Manager.Yvonne's experience and education have firmly established a person-centered, strengths-based, and equity-focused approach in her interactions with individuals, teams, communities, and systems.
